The Delight of the Stuffed Pocket for Junk Journals

The Delight of the Stuffed Pocket: A Tiny Treasure Trove

If junk journaling had a secret weapon, it would be the stuffed pocket. More than just a folded piece of paper, this little creation is a magical mix of form and function—designed to hold snippets of your story, tiny works of art, or found treasures waiting to be discovered.

At its heart, a stuffed pocket is exactly what it sounds like: a pocket you attach to a journal page, then joyfully stuff with ephemera. Think vintage tickets, tea-stained tags, stamped mini envelopes, washi-taped scraps, or a folded love note from yesteryear. The joy is in the layers, textures, and delightful surprise of pulling out each piece.

They’re not just pretty—they’re practical. Use them to store journaling prompts, secret messages, or extra embellishments. You can make them from book pages, scrapbook paper, old maps, or even fabric—anything that folds and holds.

So go ahead: layer it, fill it, and let it spill over just a little. A stuffed pocket isn’t just part of your journal—it's a place for hiding treasures and the fuller the better.

Discovering the Charm of Junk Journals: A Basic Overview

Hey there, journaling enthusiasts and creative souls! Today, we're diving into the wonderful world of junk journals—a quirky and imaginative twist on traditional diary-keeping. Imagine a journal that's not just a book of blank pages but a treasure trove of memories, creativity, and recycled wonders!

What Exactly is a Junk Journal?

Think of it as a DIY masterpiece where creativity knows no bounds. Instead of crisp, uniform pages, a junk journal is a mishmash of textures and surprises. It's like crafting a story with bits and bobs from everyday life—old letters, ticket stubs, fabric scraps, and more. Remember those days when you'd make collages out of magazine cutouts? Junk journals take that idea and elevate it to an art form.

 Why Do People Love Them?

Well, for starters, they're personal and unique. Each junk journal is a reflection of its creator's personality and experiences. It's like crafting your own scrapbook but with a twist of artistic flair. Whether you're doodling, painting, or pasting memories onto the pages, it's a therapeutic journey of self-expression. There are so many things that can be done with Junk Journals. My journals are more art journal and glue books than junk journals.

How Do You Make One?

The beauty of junk journals lies in their simplicity and versatility. You gather materials that speak to you—old maps, movie tickets, or even that wrapping paper you saved from a birthday gift. Then, you let your imagination run wild. There are no rules—just pure creativity. It's like putting together a puzzle where every piece tells a story. You don't need a lot of supplies to start. Here is small checklist for supplies to start collecting.

You can get Elmer's craft glue  and Aleenes tacky glue from Walmart and sometimes Dollar Tree.

Items to use as Ephemera (such as your favorite quotes or sentiments written on paper, ticket stub,
